The more I read about this case, the more I'm convinced of Simon's innocence. For a start, why the hell was the judge allowed to suggest that the crashing noise heard at approximately 2am was a "clumsy cat"? Surely a criminal trial should be based on evidence alone, not the opinion of the judge? In a fair and just society the judge would be disciplined and the conviction quashed.

It's disgusting that an innocent man can be held for so long when his conviction has been proven to be unsafe in it's entirity. And they say British "justice" is the best in the world? Don't make me laugh.

Dear Simon

I can't imagine how much you must have suffered, thank God that you have people fighting for you who will not give up, stay as strong as you can.

With love to you and everyone who is working for you

" Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.... "

I watched Rough Justice some time ago yet an innocent man remains in prison.

Please read and think about the quote above - we are powerful in numbers - sign the petition, make all your friends aware of Simon's story and let's see exactly how powerful we can be.

If I send this to 5 people now and they each send to 5 people that's an extra 30 people aware of Simon's petition. If they each send to 5 people that's 150 more people from three emails - two minutes work.

Hang in there Simon - while justice in this county stinks there are good people prepared to fight for what is right!

Sending you best wishes and hope,
Caz

Hi Simon, I hope this message finds you both well and with your spirit intact. As you know many people are working on your behalf, and as your father says "the battle goes on". With all the outcry surrounding the incompetence of Heath and the lack of evidence, I look forward to what I hope is your speedy release. Here's hoping true justice will be as swift as your conviction.
All the best to you and yours. My thoughts are with you often. Rab Bennett

I hope and pray that Simon finally gets true justice.
This has happened time and time agtime again. When will injustices stop?

When will the authorities realise that not every conviction is a safe one?

My heart goes out to Simon and his family.

I will pass the info around and add it to my site also

Best Wishes

When Blind Justice Becomes Blind Injustice

“I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. . Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. To remain silent and indifferent is the greatest sin of all..." Elie Wiesel Nobel Prize for Peace in 1986.

Simon,
you do not know me, and i do not know you
but your case had stirred the emotions of a 17year old,
and i do send, with all honesty, all my regards.
I study Law, and this kind of travesty makes me think why bother?
simple: to stop this happening to anyone else.
I'm sure that your case WILL reach the court of appeal, and the desicion will be overturned.
although you cannot have the 5 years of your life back that has been taken, now i am sure, you will be able to appreaciate your freedom when you reclaim it, and you will use it to the full.
Stay strong and healthy.
Patrick.

I can't remember how I stumbled across this web-site a few days ago ... anyway since then ... I've read all I can find regards the case ... and am so sad and shocked Simon was convicted on such poor, circumstancial evidence.
I posted a link on the politics page of a forum I go on ... under the heading ' Miscarriage of Justice ? ' to help get the word out so more people know.
Best of luck to everyone involved ... hope Justice is quick in coming ... hang on in there Simon ... they can't keep an innocent person locked up forever ... roll on the day you walk to Freedom !

When the system seems more intent on securing convictions (no doubt to bolster the Police and the politicians' image), rather than establishing the truth, then to me there's something gravely wrong with the system.

It didn't just happen with Simon Hall, it's happened again, and again, and again...And the next time it happens, it could happen to YOU or ME.
